The VC8S is a professional microprocessor-controlled charger featuring a three-stage TC/CC/CV charging process and an LCD display. It charges 1-8 Li-ion (3.6V/3.7V) or Ni-MH cells of any capacity in sizes AAA/R03, AA/R6, 10440, 14500, 14650, 16340, 17500, 17670, 18350, 18490, 18500, 18650, and 18700. The two outermost slots also support charging for R14, R20, 22650, 25500, and 26650 sizes, as well as protected 20700 and 21700 cells.

The Xtar VC8S charger features a backlit LCD screen that displays real-time status information for each charging slot. Displayed data includes battery voltage, charging current, charging time, and capacity delivered (mAh). The charger also indicates when the charging process is complete and alerts the user to any errors. A capacity measurement mode (Grade Mode) is also available, allowing for the assessment of actual battery capacity. Data on the charge processed can be used to measure battery capacity; Grade Mode enables verification of the battery's actual capacity. The charger performs an automatic test cycle--comprising charging, discharging, and recharging the cell--and then displays the measured capacity.
